Is there any payment cards a under 16 can make in the uk?

i know you need to be over 16 to make a debit card and over 18 to make a credit card but is there anything in the uk for someone under 16. if there is please tell me how to apply and give me the website link if there is one.

  1. Yes, there are many banks who will give a debit card to an under 16yo.

    Natwest offer Maestro (Solo) debit cards for kids aged 12+.


  2. yep you can open a bond, OR a debit card, my daughters got a debit card she is 13! it's for all your pocket money, they will give you intrest. ask in Abbey National, they have good deals for under 16.

  3. Dont go down the slippery slope of credit cards, especially at your age. Been there done that.



    If you want something save up and buy it.
