  1. Assets alone is not enough. The person doing the interview has to believe that the visa applicant will return to  VN.

I have several acquaintances who have no interest in staying in the US, but they were refused visas, for some unexplained reason. One was an older woman, in her 70's who would like to see her grand children, but planned to return to her family and home in VN. Another is a business man who has a wife and children - but for some reason he was refused.

  2. Had an Aunt come and visit us last October and yes she had to prove proof of income in a Vietnam Bank.  Proof of owning her home too.  Need to check with US Embassy in Vietnam or might check the Home Land Security Home page on the net. Cheers

  3. Yes. I don't know exactly how much asset your relative needs. My aunt came to visit us last couple years. She had to prove her income, job and asset in VN. It also depends on age.
