You always need a prescription when buying birth control. There's some clinics that you can go to to get it free though. But you still need a prescription.

If you want the cheapest, non prescription birthcontrol either take any pill and hold it between your knees... don't drop it!! haha

or baby sit 5 year olds for two years everyday... trust me that works too
