Is there any place in west Texas that is best to view the upcoming meteor shower?

We live in the mountains above 6000 feet. There is a large valley a short distance from here but we are actually looking for the best place to view the meteor shower from, in our region

If you are in the mountains I would recommend getting as high up as possible where there are few trees and most importantly get as far away from any light source as possible.

If you can travel to a flatter area then that would be good too. You just want an unobstructed view of the sky with as few light sources as possible.
