  1. Well I think its important because you want to manage your money right? Or would rather waste it all. Think about it....... keeping track of it and make sure your not behind on anything or wasteing it on something dumb...

  2. I have just got a normal building society account and get my student loans and grants paid into that with no bother.  I chose this as I did not want to even be tempted with overdrafts etc.  I also did not need a new mobile phone, £10 music voucher etc.  I like to think I'm not as easily led as that!

  3. some bursaries/loans only go into student accounts, however most go into normal savers accounts, though you might have problems if its a building society account.

i chose to get one for the freebies :)

  4. You do get extra benefits with a student account. I had mine quite a while ago but they turn into graduate accounts wth similar benefits such as interest free overdrafts with higher amounts (that I have just lost out on 7 years after I graduated), loans at discounted rates, good mortgage rates etc. Even if you don't use it it's good to have for the benefits. I can reccommend HSBC. Some even give away free stuff like rail cards/phones/PS3s that sort of stuff.
