I'm a registered nurse here in the philippines and i passed all the examination required to practice in the U.S. Right now, I'm planning to work in the middle east because I know that it takes at least 2 years to process my papers to go to U.S. Is there any chance for me to work in other countries while waiting?

  1. The answer is NO if you are in US right now. You can not leave the country while your case is still pending. You can go work outside the US when you have a green card and apply for re-entry permit. But if you are in Philippines, I think you could go to work to another country. Maybe ask your relatives to let you know if there are any mails and any interview notice that you need to attend.

  2. how do you know it will take 2 years? are you sure of this information, the reason i ask this? is about your application made in the Philippines, hopefully you will not have a contract that will bind you in the middle east and stop you from going to the US on time.?

YES, you are allowed to work in another country, but some correction must be made about your application,so that you can receive your visa.

one more thing, do know that some countries (not naming  which) keep your passport while employed, even tough it is against the law to do so,and therefore stopping you from leaving when you need to, so beware ............

and another question? where in the middle east will you be working ?

  3. Yes you can, the US does sometimes require to bring police clearance reports from countries you have visited in last few years when time comes for Green card etc. Hence make it a point to get the report from the countries you visit so you can save yourself the trouble later.
