  1. Title III, under the Consumer Credit Protection Act, an employer cannot terminate you if you only have one garnishment.  However, if you have subsequent garnishment orders, they can.

  2. Send them a "cease and desist" letter.  This will stop them from calling you at home or work.

  3. prohaps.

if they are calling your work and they don't like personal calls, you can

  4. Maybe.  It really depends on what kind of job you have.  If it's a position that requires good credit scores/history, collection and garnishment would lower your score.

If debt collectors are calling you at work and keeping you from doing your job, that might get you fired.

  5. Only if you have a financial-sensitive job. For instance if you were in the banking industry and your wages were being garnished (although it's not likely) your employer may feel that you'll compromise your honesty and be tempted to steal to fulfill your debt obligations.
