  1. Yes,  there is a place called Biosphere in which there are no inputs and outputs from this closed environment.  It generates it's own air and recycles the water in equilibrium.  There was a small biosphere at my university too - about the size of a fish bowl.  The plants generated enough O2 to feed the animals and the animals produced enough CO2 for the plants.  Look at the weblink

  2. Indian Mythology, already tells us that the sage Vishwamitra created a "Pratisristhi" meaning an alternate world outside the Earth and Heaven.

Science is not very far. It is theoretically possible.

Archemedies is already on the record having said " et terre move bo".

So I take the courage and say," Give me sufficient money and encouragement and I shall create a new environment outside and independent of the Earth".

  3. Sure.. just make sure you have gravity and atmosphere on it..and give it billions of years...rest of the things will develop on their own....

  4. Yes, many years ago when we first landed on Mars the theory was put forward that we could implant billions of phytoplankton into the atmosphere, these would breathe in the carbon doixide and blow out oxygen which in a hundred or so years would be enough to sustain human life.

I dont know whats happened since but the word "terraformers" has become quite common in science fiction films so they will probably come true some day.

  5. Possible if someone can translate "20 thousand leagues under the sea" into reality.

  6. Terraform Mars...
