Is there any postage restrictions on what I can post to China, ie cameras ?

I sold a camera on ebay to a person in china, (i am from uk) but i was advised that royalmail cannot send this to china as it is against chinas regualtions to receive this, why is this and is there a way around it ?

The only way around it is a specialised fast track delivery service like ups.

But then it may be down to Chinese import rules.
