Is there any professional golfer that could beat Tiger Woods in a fight?

Tiger Woods is completely ripped compared to other golfers. Granted, I don't know the physical details on too many golfers, but certainly he could demolish the likes of Phil Mickelson, Geoff Ogilvy, Sergio Garcia, etc.

I don't condone violence, but for the sake of discussion, let's just say things got out of hand out on the golf course and things went down. Maybe Tiger steps in his fellow golfer's line on the putting green, and then that golfer retaliates with a "yo' mama" line that hits a little too close to home... and an all-out brawl ensues. Right there on the 14th green.

Is there anyone that could take Tiger Woods out?

(Disregard Tiger's current knee injury.)

  1. There are two that come to mind. Jason Gore and Bubba Watson. If you see Bubba in person he looks like he's ready to beat someone down. Just look how far he hits the ball. Jason Gore is probably tough and I'm sure he could hold his own in stregnth.

  2. Vijay Singh.  He took Tiger's No. 1 ranking and I think he could take Tiger in a street fight.  He is older, but extremely fit and slightly taller than Tiger.

Like one previous response said, Vijay used to be a nightclub bouncer in Scotland.  He has probably scuffled with some seriously bad dudes and guys that were seriously dangerous

How many of these guys has Tiger (or any other golfer) run into?  VJ is still hear to tell the tale.  He knows a bit of martial arts too.  In a hypothetical match, VJ takes him out.

Even if you disregard Tiger's current knee injury, his knee has been worked on in that past.  In any real fight, the knees ought to be a target.

Others not yet mentioned: Stuart Appleby, Paul Casey, Brett Wetterich, Jack Nicklaus and Ray Floyd (in their prime)

  3. First person that came to mind was Hank Kuehne.  Kuehne is 6'2, 205lbs, 32 years of age.  He was Tigers arch rival as an amatuer and was known for hitting the ball a long ways.  He's played in only three Tour events this year and hasn't made a single cut.  Knowing what I know, I'd have  to go with Tiger (6'1; 185lbs; 32)

It has to be someone on the younger-side, I would think.  Not necesarilly a top golfer, but a guy who's a known athlete and looks like he could be a scrapper.  Has to be someone of substantial size.  185lbs at 6'1 seems pretty lightweight to me...

How about Notah Begay.  He's a noted hooligan, and at 5'11 195 he's got a lower center of gravity and more weight to throw around at Tiger.  He's a little older (35), and I'm not sure how good of shape he is in.  I still say Tiger wins in a fight.

When in doubt, I think the edge has to go to Woods, seeing as he is who he is.  Let's keep looking then...

Ok, I think I found somebody.  Kevin Stadler---Craig's kid.  He's younger than Tiger; to me, being 28 as oppose to 32 is an advantage for Stadler.  Obviously, Kevin's main advantage would be his size.  At 250lbs, Woods would have trouble disjarring his younger and stronger opponent.  This would be like a heavyweight fighting against a middleweight, and in that situation I'd expect the bigger guy to win.

  4. jb holmes i think ernie might have a shot he is a big guy other than that no one comes to mind. good question.

  5. John Daly, but then he's to unhealthy so he'd need to get a 1 hit knock out on Tiger to win.  If the fight went longer than 10 seconds Daly would need a Defib Machine to start his heart again from too much physical work in a short period of time.  I think the man for the job would be Vijay Singh.  he use to be a Nightclub Bouncer when he first started playing Golf.  He has a similar build, height, age is alot further down the road though and just seems like he could snapp at any point (because he acts so calm).

  6. Only two could be possibilities

    1. Hank Kuehne. - The man is 6'2, 200+, and took over John Daly's spot as the longest hitter on tour.  Not only his he huge, but he is ripped, comes from an athletic family, and will produce more athletic children to beat up Tiger because he is marrying one of the William's sisters.

    2. Buba Watson. - This guy is so d**n powerful and strong.  He can stand on a tee and you'll feel like you got the **** knocked out of you (expecially if you Corey Pavin).  I wouldn't expect this pairing though because Watson and Woods and good friends and often play practice rounds together.

  7. to heck with the golfers , two months training , tigers determination . pro boxers would loose . any sport he decided to play . he would have been a superstar . i dont think he has ever heard the term give up , or fail . his mind is so focused , we are fourtante he choose golf . the tribute by nike , regarding earl . best sport commercial ever . it made a great match even better . even the announcers , were telling it the way it is .

  8. John Daly, if he wasn't too intoxicated. But unfortunately, he's probably way too drunk.

  9. Chris Couch is not that well known (1 tour win) but may be the strongest guy ever to play on tour. I played golf with Seth Joiner (NFL linebacker) he played with Couch in a Pro - Am and said he was as strong as most NFL linemen.

  10. paul casey or even maybe lee westwood

but tiger isn't a loser and he would do anything from losing
