  1. How old are you?  What do you mean by a little out of shape?  How much education do you have?  Can you get a GED?  If you can't get a GED the military would not be interested in you.  Seek out a different recruiter and talk to them.

  2. See your recruiter first. Take a parent.

  3. The government has relaxed some of the requirement as far as needing a High School Diploma or G.E.D. but, I'm thinking there were other reasons the Recruiter took a pass. Go ahead and get your G.E.D. and try again.

  4. Sounds like you truly want to join so I'll help you out.  First thing that's hurting you is the lack of a diploma.  You can go online and get a GED or enroll in classes.  They usually run about 150 or so bucks and take a couple months.  If you're serious about wanting to do this, a couple months should be no problem.  With your new GED, you go back to the recruiter and tell them what you want.

However, there are recruiters who can sit down with you and get you into the Army but you're going to have to take the first step to be a soldier and man up, get your GED.

  5. It's ok I didn't graduate eaither. Get your GED thats your first step. Next start working out. Sounds easier than it is, when your lifestyle is set you dont want to change, but if you are 100 percent serious about serving you will do whatever it takes to start. Start with those 2 things, and maybe talk to a differnt recruiter. Most will give you some info on what you should do.

  6. No

  7. You will have to get your GED before they will talk to you.  It could potentially take a few months to complete that, and during that time you'll need to start working out a little.  don't stress over lifting weights... just focus on endurance training... walking and running, building lung capacity.  Also, start drinking a lot of water.  that will help you in losing weight and building healthy muscle mass.  Pay attention to your diet.  My daughter quit drinking soda pop last year and lost 35 pounds in 4 months!!

Also, don't listen to the guy who posted just before me... military recruiters are making their numbers consistently... they don't take just anyone... and by showing some initiative to do what you need to do to enlist, you'll be showing them you've got what they're looking for.

On the other hand... if you're just looking for someone to yell at you until you get yourself into shape, you need to look inside yourself to find the strength to do it.  If you can't muster the self-discipline to finish your high school education and get in half-way decent shape, then you're probably not military material.

    Best of luck to you!

  8. Try another recruiter.  The Army really wants people, and no HS diploma or GED is no problem, or drug background, and a multitude of other things are are waiverable.
