Is there any provision in UPSC/SSC etc. for re-evaluation of answer sheets if a candidate fails in any paper?

If a candidate fails to qualify in a particular paper in which his performance was very good and he is not satisfied with the evaluation level, can he get justice by taking recourse to the re-evaluation process in case, otherwise, his total marks would have placed him in the merit list of successful candidates.
