  1. There are no trains that go to Santa Monica. Public transpo is awful. The Santa Monica big blue bus goes to downtown, but im not sure if it goes near Union Station.  You'd have to google the Big Blue Bus.  You can probably get close, but from riverside you are talking like 2 hrs each way or more.

  2. Congratulations... it's going to be QUITE the commute for you!

I would move closer to Santa Monica if you have no car. Seriously... you're looking at 2-3+ hours commute. Each way.

You can take the Metrolink train from Riverside to Union Station . Here's the schedule - http://www.metrolinktrains.com/schedules...

Then from Union Station take a bus to Santa Monica College. http://www.metro.net/default.asp

I calculated for you on Monday... You've got a class at 10:30am ... let's say you get on the 407 train leaving at 6:50am, get to Union Station at 8:13am. Walk to the bus stop to hop on Rapid Transit bus 704 at 8:35am, to the next bus (Blue Bus #11) get to campus at 10:07am

God forbid you leave anything at home, because you'll be screwed.Like I said, try moving closer to Santa Monica or consider enrolling in Riverside Community College if there is one. Good luck!

  3. There are outstanding colleges in Riverside, so why would you want to have to commute to Santa Monica.  Choices include:

RCC - Riverside City College - 2 yr community college

UCR - University of California Riverside

La Sierra University - Private college

CBU - California Baptist University - private college (and you don't have to be Baptist or even a Christian to attend)

  4. I am sure there is a way, but it would NOT be recommended.  You would start with Metrolink from Riverside to Downtown, then get an Express bus to Santa Monica.  But it could take 3 hours each way.  If you got it down to 2 hours each way, you would be lucky.
