Is there any publishing companies that accept manuscripts in Canada?

I wrote a story that is quite long and my friends insist that I should get it published but does anyone one any publishing companies in Canada that accept manuscripts without an agent?

Most companies probably wouldn't waste their time reading a random manuscript, otherwise they'd be spending all their time doing just that.

I'm not sure it's really possible to do without the help of an agent. You could probably get it published at some small company, but you wouldn't really get any exposure.

I mean it's all possible to be done without an agent but your chances would just increase tremendously with the help of an agent.  Try sending your manuscript to agents.  If they like what they read they may be willing to represent you pro bono until you start receiving money from a publisher. Similar to how a lawyer may not charge you unless you win the case.
