  5. The last Portuguese monarch was from the "House of Braganza" which ended in 1910. In February 1, 1908, king Carlos I of Portugal was murdered with his eldest son and heir, Luis Filipe, 21st duke of Braganza. He was succeeded by Manuel II of Portugal but only reigned for a short time: on October 5, 1910, a republic was instituted and the king was exiled. King Manuel II settled in England.

    House of Burgundy, or Afonsine Dynasty, (1143-1383/1385)

    House of Aviz, or Joannine Dynasty, (1385-ca. 1580)

    Portuguese House of Habsburg (Philippine Dynasty), (1580-1640)

  6. as far as i know theres no Monarch in Portugal it is a Republic country...the last monarch as far as i know
