Question:

Is there any "minor" age restrictions on working in NJ if you've already obtained a highschool diploma?

i'm 17...however i got out of high school early and am now in a very good college...i applied for a job today,and they weren't sure if they could hire me because of the fact that i'm 17...i'm also in NJ,so can someone knowledgeable PLEASE tell me the details on whether i can work or not without the d**n age restrictions

  1. You don't state what kind of job you applied for in some states it all depends on the danger associated with that job type.  I know working in a deli is not allowed because of the meat slicing machines.  Other types of jobs have that same restriction if there is dangerous machinery or situations.  


  2. go talk to the job office at your "very good college" - they will be well acquainted with the paperwork 17 year olds need to get a work permit if any.
