Is there any "normal" vegan toothpaste?

  2. Tom's of Maine is good.  I personally like the fennel flavor, but they have regular flavors, too.

    From what I understand, the other toothpastes are vegan... I read about a book called "The Secret House" that described the science going on behind the scenes during your day that you don't think/know about.  Essentially, the things that make up toothpaste are chalk (scraped from the bottom of the ocean, not exactly vegan since it's the bones of sea creatures), a chemical like formaldehyde, just enough detergent to make it foam up (because you don't need it, but people like to see the foam, it makes them think "clean!"), some white pigment like they use on paint, so when you look in the mirror right after, you think they're whiter,some kelp to help it stick together... nothing too incredibly gross, but Tom's is a little nicer.
