  1. Yes, and if you have any plans to become a pilot try this:  get a portable and sit at the fence of an airport.  Watch the planes and listen to the talk.  It will all fall into place.  Aircraft radio conversation is very special.  Limited vocabularly, many confirmations.  Loud cockpits and no margin for error has made a very specialized language.

  3. Sure... almost any scanner you buy from stores like Radio shack will scan the aircraft frequencies... just ask at your local Radio shack for one.

  4. Yes there is one. But it is classified and not available for sale. It is illegal for an authorised person to possess such a device as it a risk to national/international security.

    You can invent one yourself and listen to their talks, but that will take some time. I am definitely not trying on this unless I am in some military research.
