okay, so i just left my cousins graduation early because they all started drinking, my aunt took the keys but i still think its wrong. its so weird because they are the "popular kids" and you think of them drinking as glorified, cool, or mature. but when i saw them start there dumbass games they just looked stupid as h**l. all pounding on the table and drinking beer. even the girls who so many people find attractive were sitting on laps and taking shots. it was at my aunts house and there were little kids watching them. its just uhh it bugs me. my mom said i could drink if i wanted to. that KILLED me. parents are supposed to hate that stuff. why do i find it stupid? is there something great here that im missing?

  1. You probably see the adults as stupid.. but the way i see it theyre being responsible. If people want to drink theyre going to drink, its better they do it in the saftey of a home with someone to watch over them rather than out on the streets.

  2. Absolutely not!  You are really mature for your age and you realize how dumb people can get when intoxicated and the horrible decisions people can make when drinking.  I applaud you.  Drinking just makes you fat eventually & gives me a headache...that is why I never drink anymore!  Also, think about what you are doing to your body!  You will always run into people drinking, but I think you are smart enough to do what is best for you!

  3. Good for you.  I got a voicemail from a drunk friend one night and he sounded so dumb.  I still listen to it every so often to remind myself howw dumbb it is

I prefer being in control of my actions, because you're always responsible for them.

"I was drunk" is no excuse.  you chose to get drunk, so you are responsible for your actions

I respect you soo much. Thank you for being one of the few teens that i still can [respect]

  4. Woah

Not all parents are like that.

    Not all kids, either

  5. You need to get jacked, and then  you'll understand what the fun's all about

  6. Well, if you were a mother wouldn't you rather have your kids drinking in a supervised and safe location rather than at a party somewhere and they're stranded ?

  7. How old are you?  I must applaud your maturity on this.  Everybody feels differently though about drinking.  Some like it, some don't, and some swear it off all together after getting horribly wasted and then turning back to it.  But as for teen drinking, I don't think it is right that adults are allowing it at their houses and furnishing the alcohol.  Just think if they get the cops called on them out there, your aunt and any other adult there would be screwed.  Not to mention, parents of the kids that find out and don't approve may not like it much and press charges.  That is actually a crime and punishable by fines and jail time.  I am 23, when I was 21 I went to a "river party" at somebody's camp on a creek.  I thought it may be fun.  They had parents and other adults there drinking WITH their very much so underage kids.  I remember even seeing a boy there drunk off his *** that couldn't have been more than 12.  Anyhow, you decision to not drink right now is mature.  You may want to down the road, who knows.  But just be safe when doing so.

  8. wow! ur awesome!

  9. KUDOS! You are probably one of the smartest teenagers out there!

I was in a group like that in high school. Drank every weekend, partied as hard as I could, and was crazy.

Last October, I hooked up with a guy I went to high school with at a Halloween party, where I was VERY drunk. I honeslty only remember bits and pieces of us hooking up, but I got pregnant. I'm due in a week, and hope that my son will never find out how he was concieved. How embarrassing.

Parents think that allowing their kids to drink around them will prevent the kids from partying at other places, but it won't. They will still party where every they can. Also, if the cops bust a party where there are ADULTS there, the adults will get into HUGE trouble and could even get sued by parents of the kids that were there. So it's stupid on many levels.

How many drunk driving accidents, pregnancies, and trips to jail will it take parents & teenagers to realize that there is a LEGAL drinking age for a reason?!

  10. well i always say better at my parents than someone elses. it's better to have kids drinking, (because they are young and are going to do it anyway) at a controlled place. keys takin away so noone can drink and drive and get hurt and when someone drinks too much or things gets a little out of hand theres parents there to get the teens settled down. i'm glad to see parents doing this now. every parent knows their kid is going to drink sometime and they are being responsible while letting them have fun and experiment.

  11. You don't want to drink. I am 17 and I think that drinking and getting drunk is horrible. I know that a lot of the kids in my school drink and they don't do anything much else. They don't focus on school. Trust me there is nothing you are missing. My sister came home drunk and couldn't even make it up the stairs so she had to sleep on the landing. Another time she came home drunk she was in the bathroom all day and that is no exaggeration. Getting drunk is something that I don't think should be glorified.
