bacteria live on ur tongue. if u dont brush it, they will reproduce on there which can be bad for ur gums. (cause gum disease) and cause really bad breath. it's easy and doesnt take long. as nike says, just do it!

Yes, some food particles stick to your tongue and they will rot and stink there if you don't brush it. It's the same with brushing your teeth and flosssing/

also, quite apart from the bad breath/hygeine issue an excellent reason to defolite your tongue regularly is that it removes the layer of crud that gets between your taste buds, and whatever you are eating / drinking, so not only will you have fresher breath, and less risk of periodontal problems, but your sense of taste will also be sharper.
