Is there any reason why Lincoln sits the way he does at the memorial?

  1. its probubly just what the artist at the time pictured him as ,,as far as why that is may be a mystery


  2. The Body language suggests some one under tension and legs Crossed means he's not open to suggestion.

  3. I don't think it's so much the way he sits, but rather by the fact that he is sitting at all.  Most statutes show leaders standing.  Perhaps the sculptor for Lincoln had him sit to show that Lincoln was weary from the civil war and too tired to stand.
