Is there any reason you can't use a stocktank as a swimming pool?

I know this sounds like a silly question, but in reality, they are cheaper - made better. I am just worried about the metal and if that somehow would react with the chlorine. Also - do they come in various sizes?

  1. I grew up along the Red River, everyone used a stock tank in the yard for swimming.

Remember to either buy above ground over the wall equipment to circulate.

If not, dump it every other day.

    Be safe.

  2. I would say more of a hot tub than a swimming pool, but yes.  Many people use stock tanks as 'mini-pools' because they do everything that the commercial mini-pools do and end up being more durable.  Personally I would go with a plastic tank, but the metal can work as well.  Check out the source for all sorts of details and how to's.

    Happy soaking.

  3. no there not a reason not except for algae it's more likely  to collect in the bottom of it and yes they do come in different sizes
