Is there any recourse for a juvenile delinquent who is being force fed Seroquel?

I have a friend who just got out of jail, and is now in a half way house until October. He's under arrest for something he did 5 years ago, and his sentence is just now coming to an end. However, the people who work at his half way house are apparently feeling threatened by him (even though he's a really sweet, easy-going guy, who has no history of violence.) They are now forcing him to take 300 mg of Seroquel every day; this is a drug which is usually reserved for schizophrenics. Since he started, he's become a shell of his former self. He doesn't talk, joke around, back talk our manager, or anything. He just does his job, mutely, and then stands around, with dead eyes. It's really scaring me. Are there any rules about this, since he doesn't even have any mental health problems?

  1. I am sure it is being used for medical reasons.  Yes, they have control over him and what they are doing is correct.

  2. you can only be forced drugs if you are sectioned. though in truth, if you refuse these drugs they simply turn around and section you for not being compliant. the whole system sucks and there are tons of victims in it. the good news is you cant be sectioned forever. the bad news is if you stop taking the meds they can section you again. unfortunately since he lives in a half way house they have a lot of control over his treatment. if he had his own place it would be different. i would say just tell him to spit the d**n things out. though i would tell him to withdraw from it slowly as recommended over the internet. however, of course when the half way house notice hes not a zombie any more they could section him to force him to take it and force long lasting injections on him if he refuses to take it or they dont trust him not to spit it out.

thats what people want in this world from others.

since he was in jail they can make up any mental health problems they want about him. why was he in jail? "he's aggressive, antisocial, he was manic, etc" they can say anything. and who is anyone going to believe? an ex con? or an expert psychiatrist?

also, they could sling his @ss out of the half way house SO fast if he doesnt comply by their rules, and he will be homeless, and branded a trouble maker.

it looks like he has to suck it up for a roof over his head.. unless he comes lives with you.
