Is there any recourse if someone is using fake screen names on yahoo message boards?

i am in 2 different groups

there was a member that was banned for starting trouble

i am pretty sure that this person has rejoined under a fake name

they are also in another group i am in with the screen name that they were banned with in the first group

they are only in the group to start trouble

is there anyway to get them banned

  1. They can be moderated or banned again from the group.I think it is the best way to prevent problems.

  2. actually, the only possible way is to know the IP address, and that isn't always accurate either since some server refresh them all the time or the person can spoof them. gaining the IP address also can only be done by seeing an e-mail from them

    Yahoo will delete an account for abuse, but there is nothing to prevent that person from creating a new ID/ account and starting over- Yahoo currently monitors IP addresses, but not to the point of this kind of thing, and preventing a spoofed IP address or one that refreshes.

    only real way to be proactive is moderate new memberships and their posts- don't approve a membership if the profile was newly created- or don't approve any memebrships for about a week. generaly most trouble makers cant sit still for too long and then go onto another group and bother them.
