  1. China did recently change their criteria (as a previous answerer mentioned).  I would recommend contacting a local reputable adoption agency who specializes in adoptions from China and have them answer all of your questions.  They will best be able to answer this for you.

    Good luck.

  2. The second answer hit all the important points.  If you would like more detailed information you can go to www.informedadoptions.com.

As an FYI - The wait time right now is about 3-4 years.

  3. There are quite a few restrictions, last year China changed their criteria.

Only married Couples can adopt and they have to be married for a certain period of time. At least 2 years if it’s the first marriage of both people.  At least 5 years if either person has previously been married.

30 to 54 years of age

A couple can have up to 4 children in the home, so if you have  5 or more children you can not adopt from China.

You have to have a certain income level.  30 grand minimal annual income, plus 10 grand per child currently in the home. And minimum of 80 grand net worth.

A person can not be overweight, have any serious health issues or have any physical disfigurements. This means no one that is physical handicapped in any way.
