Hi

I am writing in concern for a friend. He is on Parole. He is doing really good, he is working, has his own place and a support network of friends and family. He was recently placed under s*x offender rules even though he was NEVER convicted of any kind of sexual crime, and NONE of his crimes were even close to being sexually related ( all burglaries, thefts of vehicles etc..). He now needs supervision to even see his own kids-------- Is this Legal???

  1. All conditions of parole must be reasonably related to the crime and the offender.  Unfortunately parole officers can put all kinds of conditions on their parolees.  It is possible to appeal unreasonable conditions.

  2. Very legal. He's on parole. This means he's still in custody of the State.Sadly, they can do just about anything they want to.Remember this is a "Christian Nation".We never forget anything you've Ever done and we Never forgive you for Anything!

I wish the best for your friend.I pray he gets his life together. But even when he does he'll always be treated as a second class citizen.

Hard to believe we see this in America isn't it?

  3. He needs to ask his parole officer why those rules were put in place.  He can write the parole board and ask them.  As another poster said, he may not be telling you everything.  Check your states government website.  Look under department of corrections.  Find the offender tracking system.  Look him up and it will list his charges.  Also, if what you are saying is true, there may also be stuff on that page to help him appeal his conditions.  Ultimately, his parole agent should know the answer to this question.

  4. I have a feeling your friend is not telling you everything.
