  1. Well there are studies that show that continual exposure to things influences people, don't know why you would need science to know that.

  2. I say, only censor material around very young children and let mature children decide for themselves. I personally don't like censorship at all. The only type of censoring which would help them would be pornographic censoring. I don't think young children should be overly exposed to profane language and sexual content because its just not time for that. Let kids be kids!

Evidence? There has yet to be a study on it. I don't think there will be soon.

  3. no....

ive heard kids would rather have fighting parents than divorce but for the parents it stinks..

  4. Of course there is no undeniable evidence.. Human nature is a difficult thing to scientifically study.

  5. All sorts.

  6. Evidence is easy to come by; a reptilian foot print could be considered as possible evidence that dragons exist. Proof, on the other hand, is a little harder to come by. There is no proof for such a thing, as what is considered "bad content" is subjective. Media content is rarely (if ever) harmful. Consider what it would be like if something as harmless as walking around in pajamas was considered lewd. How many people would claim they were traumatized because they were exposed to pajamas on television? You bet there would be an uproar. The same is true for anything that is currently considered to be "lewd" -- all of it is only as lewd as you want it to be, and the effect it has on a person depends entirely on how steadfastly a person holds on to his/her convictions that the content was "lewd".

  7. i wouldn't shield my children, don't they got to learn what the world is really like? and how to survive it?

  8. now that's a really good question.

but it depends on what your talking about as reality

you mentioned "censoring" which generally applies to cd's, dvd's, videogames, which are not reality.

and yes their is a lot of research and real life proof that their is a benefit from shielding kids from this stuff

real life stuff, like divorce, and sickness.  no research that i know of
