I've been wondering and it's driving me crazy! I personally do not believe that the world will end in 2012.The mayan calednar just ends, and has a picture of a shift on Earth. Im thinking magnetic shift. A geological shift needs a lot more to happen. All these end of the world things come from one idea which is a geological shift that is impossible...Am I right about this?..And, Can someone please tell me the world is not going to end!

  1. No, technically there is no scientific evidence. The date of the winter solstice of 2012 was a Mayan calculation that was only meant to designate the end of the present world age and the beginning of a new one. That just means that the world will continue on, but all of the cycles of the earth will start anew.

  2. Our Social Science class had recently watched a documentary on the Mayan culture which had existed a long time ago. The documentary said that Mayans predict correctly when an eclipse was to happen, and had also computed the number of days in a year almost too accurately, with only an approximate miss off of 6 hours. So, as these Mayans predicted the end of the world was to be on December 21/23, 2012, many had believed this, including their descendants. This was not fully proven, but some scientists say that there is no scientific basis for this and the year 2012 is not to be feared of.

And I guess the Mayans just got lazy to continue their two-wheel system calendar so they just said the last date they saw. I personally don't really believe in this.
