There aren't any on the Sony website

Sony, Canon, JVC and Panasonic all make good camcorders.  DVD based camcorders aren't a good idea, for all sorts of reasons.

    >why sony hhd cams dont have a optical viewfinder?

They probably think that consumers don't need them, so they can reduce costs by not including them.  I haven't read any reviews that thought it was a good idea!

If you assume that 90% of your footage will be unusable (and it's a very fair assumption!) then you need a lot of space.  The problem is that people don't bother to copy their footage to a PC, the camcorder takes a small fall of the sofa (that seems to be a favourite place) and suddenly they can't access any of it!  40gb or even 120gb isn't too much but it does encourage complacency.

    >can i use dcr sr65E as a webcam?

    I don't think so.
