  1. I completely second beebs with regards to the allergy I also would like to add that it might be carageean in the soymilk (lots of brands use it, I know that Vitasoy doesn't) as some people have reactions to it. A soy allergy is much more likely, however.  Try almond, rice, hazelnut, hemp, or oat milk. I like almond for baking, and hemp for drinking. The last three options are harder to find, but you should be able to pick up some ricedream or other brand rice milk at any store that sells soy. This is true to a lesser extent of almond milk. Hemp, hazelnut, and oat milk I have only seen at Wholefoods.

You can also make your own nut milks yourself as you basically only need to blend the nuts with water and strain. I make cashew cream this way for use in smoothies and soups.

  2. yeah if the soy milk is expired or is been out in the sun for like idk a week.

  3. If soy milk is itching your throat, stay away. you are probably allergic against it. Try rice milk, or, if you are handy with a blender, make yourself almond- or other nut milks. 2 ts nuts mixed with 1 cup or more water. Yummy.

  4. Lots of soy milks have all sorts of added stuff.

Try just the plain soy milk with nothing added.

  5. only you can determine that... try another brand, you may or may not be allergic to soy

  6. You may have an allergy to soy-so you should avoid it totally!  If you keep consuming soy, you could develop a serious, even life threatening allergy.  Most soy has been genetically modified, and is the leading cause of adult onset allergies in the US and UK.  Google GMO soy for more info-it has been spliced with all sorts of DNA from other plant species and even scorpion venom to make the crops more resistant to pests.  Frankenfood, if you ask me.  I am highly allergic to it, and avoid it at all costs-watch for hidden sources of it too, such as in shampoo, cosmetics, etc.  You could try rice, almond, or other nut "milks"  all of which are super easy to make at home using a blender.  You can buy them, but I prefer homemade so I know exactly what ingredients go into it.  Good luck!

  7. Well, there are a lot of other ingredients in packaged soy milk.  Compare the ingredients.

  8. Go to the doctors, and get him to give you an allergy test for soy.  Also, bring the doc the ingredient list, and ask if there are any ingredients on it that are known allergens. If so, get tested for those too.

If you test negative for soy allergy, just use another brand.  If you test positive for any other possible allergens that are in the brand you reacted to, look for a brand that doesn't have the ingredient(s) you're allergic to.

If you test positive for soy allergy, or continue to have problems, just don't drink soy milk.  There are other veggy milks, such as rice, or almond.
