i have it in 3D animation as a software.

i have created an small gym in my home.

all things are ready for not paying money to Aikido Classes.

only thing i want is a war up program for Aikido as i know it is needed for learning any Martial art.

does Aikido needs a special warm up and Cooling down program?

  1. A great warm up is to pick a partner, put on some apropriate music and dance the tango

  2. Get some proper lessons from someone trained in Iwama Ryu Aikido(minimum 2nd Dan!) That is the best guidance you can get. Training in all these other branches of Aikido will lead you aimlessly. Iwama Ryu is the stock with which all the other styles of Aikido learned from and wandered from its original aim/purpose and martial intent. You cannot possibly learn Aikido from a video. To feel the power and skill of a proficient Aikidoka is something that you will never gain from a video or dvd. You must train with someone skilled and understand tecnique before you can study from a video or dvd. Martial intent is what the arts are about. Choose your path carefully.

  3. as good a teaching aide as that program may be to some.  It's still an aide.

you are not going to learn  aikido from just using that.

aikido is a very technical art that requires proper instruction by a teacher.

  4. Hi if you go into aikiweb site i think you might find some warm up exercises there, i`ve done aikido for 8 years now and we do certain aikidobased exercises but as long as your warm up involves stretching and breathing exercises which are done together. also using tai sabaki body movement is just as good for a warm up you can also use aikido movements to warm up, but use them sort of like shadow boxing movements anyway hope this helps andy.

  5. learn from an aikido black belt, no form of software or media can ever replace the real thing.  without the guidance of a sensei, you WILL have problems on your technique.  you'll never know if what your doing is proper or not.

take it from me, I'm a beginner in aikido too ("whitebelt!)

training differs from various aikido groups..... some start with stretching and rolling.  In Iwama we start with tae no henko.

    Iwama Rules!

  6. it doesnt need any "special" warmup.. just normal stuff to make sure that your joints and muscles are warm to avoid any injuries. running, pushups, light wrestling, sommersaults, push hands, jumping around
