  1. Ants, or Lion the female are the leaders in capturing their prey.

  2. One famous example is the spotted hyena. In this species, females are larger than males and dominate them in all aspects of their society - the lowest-ranked female is superior to the highest-ranked male, and even female cubs can bully adult males. These animals were once thought to be hermaphrodites, since the female's genitals look very similar to those of males - the clitoris is enlarged to almost the same size and shape as the p***s (it's often called a pseudopenis), and there are fatty lumps, known as pseudotestes because they resemble testes, blocking the entrance to the v****a. Because of these, spotted hyenas have to mate and give birth through the clitoris.

Bonobos and ring-tailed lemurs both live in female-dominated societies, as do elephants. Male elephants are larger and stronger than females, but they live alone, visiting a herd only when one of the females is in heat - he will mate, then leave. The leader of the herd is a female, usually the eldest in the herd, called the matriarch.

Female praying mantids, and some spiders such as the famous black widow, often eat their mates after or even during mating. Females are certainly the dominant s*x here!

I would just like to clear something up regarding lions. Whilst females do the majority of the hunting for the pride, males will join in, particularly when hunting large prey such as buffalo. Also, young males who have left their natal pride but not yet taken over one of their own have no choice but to hunt for themselves. The main reason females do most of the hunting is that the male's role is to protect the pride from invading males - he must save his strength for this purpose. Also, his large mane makes him more visible to prey when stalking. You cannot really say females are dominant in lion society - males are larger and stronger, and dominate females when necessary. At kills, for example, males often feed before females, hence the saying 'the lion's share'.

And by the way - you may not have had a female president in the US, but here in the UK we have a queen, and have had a female prime minister in the past. So females can and do rule in some human societies!

  3. Well I've heard rumors that some species of female spiders bite their partner's head-off, during s*x...and I mean litterly, just rip it off. I forgot why they do this, but in a way, it's pretty funny :)

  4. Cockroaches

  5. Ants, termites, naked moles and ring tailed lemurs all come readily to mind.

  6. Termites, ants, and social wasps of course.  Most if not all social insects.

In wolves, usually a male leads, but sometimes a female.

In raptors, the female is usually bigger and fiercer, but I don't know that there is any competition for leadership, as both parents care for the young instinctively.

  7. HUMANS duh! GIRLS RULE!

  8. The queen bee isn't actually the leader, she just produces eggs.  The hive doesn't seem to have an actual leader, it responds sort of as one.  Every bee has a role and does it.  The queen bee doesn't make decisions or give directions.  They are often described as slaves because all they do is lay eggs, its all they can ever do.

  9. in alot of species, the female rules the roost..so to speak lol :P

female spiders and insects will eat their mate after s*x, male sea horses (or is that sea horsii lol) , and some species of birds will leave the rearing of the young to the father.

and of course..with the human species..women rule!! for all you guys that dont agree...just remember..if us women werent around..youd all be batting for the same team...LOL :P

  10. Ants, wasps, and termites (other insects as well).  There are many species of animals where females are the more "dominant" partner but not in the same sense as being a Queen or "leader" in large colonies of insects.

  11. Ants, hyenas, and democrats.

  12. I know that a spider called the black widow kills her husband after mating, does that make it rule?

They say the male lion rules but i just think it's a housewife since the female lion gets the food and protects its children

  13. Ants

    bonobos

    elephants

    Jacanas

    Phalaropes

And females can rule in human societies, Just ask Margaret Thatcher, Benazir Bhutto, Angela Merkel, Queen Elizabeth I, Catherine the Great, Golda  Meir,  and Mrs Kirchner among many others

  14. Umm...ants? I don't know if you wanted a more detailed answer lol.

  15. worker bees can leave

    even drones can fly away

    the queen is their slave

    - Chuck Palahniuk, "Fight Club"

  16. A lot of female spiders. Ants cause they have a queen ant. A lot of other insects probably.

  17. we have some mixed up answers here.

Ants, wasps, some spices of bees the queen is the leader but others she is a slave bee.

Lions: the female hunts and protects the children and the male simply fights off other lions.  The only you would see a male hunt is if he is a loner.

You could say deep sea lantern fish because when they mate the male ahh fuses into the female's body and dies.

  18. Ants have a Queen.

  19. All of them.
