  1. i've heard that how big the fish grows depends on the size of its home. like if its a tiny fish in a super big tank, it can grow to fit the tank, as long as it lives long enough that is.

  2. Nope.  All species of goldfish grow much larger than that.  Anyone with a goldfish smaller than that has a stunted goldfish.  They will stay small in small containers, but that is only because they are stunted - which means that their outsides have stopped growing but their internal organs will keep growing until they are eventually suffocated to death by their own bodies.  It's a rather gruesome way to kill a fish.

If you want a coldwater fish that will stay under 3 inches I suggest you get a white cloud minnow or a rosy red minnow instead of a goldfish.  Either that or invest in a heater and get a betta.

  3. They do have mini fancy's a newer breed out, however to obtain one is not going to be easy.  These fancy's do not grow beyond 4-5 inches and NO they are not stunted fish.

I have yet to see them in the stores for sale, I've only seen them at show.

Pearlscales are the smallest of goldfish breeds. They average 5-6 inches and rarely get to 6.

  4. Yep, a plastic gold fish..

Goldfish get huge, seriously. If you cant care for a large fish, don't get a goldfish..

Some tropical fish look like goldfish, and some of them stay small. And they're more beautiful :) But you will need a heater and a filter.

A beautiful fish that i suggest is a Pearl Gourami. Or any Gourami really, they are easier to care for.. But do need alot of work to be living for a long time.

  5. just  get some white cloud mountain minnows

    there cold water

  6. Not that I know of...  B/c I got a fair goldfish and it has grown well over 3 inches... I have had him for 4 years...

  7. every goldfish will grow beyond 3 inches maybe your tank is too small for them to grow.

  8. Check out pearl scale goldfish they are fatties and dont get to big
