Dear Yahoo Answers Users,

If a native Canadian accept one as a step-son or step-daughter in a lawful process,Can he/she immigrate to Canada legally and get perennial citizenship of Canada.

Is there any statute for that?

  1. I don't think you can sponsor your step-child as a familly class member - unless he or she is a minor and you are also sponsoring their mother and they want to come along. On this website, you can post your question and someone who has been in your situation will be glad to help.

  2. That would come under the Family Sponsorship category, and it is possible in some situations, depending on the age of the stepchild, whether you have sponsored other people to come to Canada, etc.  Is the child's mother in Canada?  Or coming to Canada?  Here is the link to the Canadian immigration site, which is what you need to check.
