Is there any such thing as a memory suppressant?

I'm working on a fanfic and I'm wondering if there's a memory suppressant or amnesiac that needs to be administered on a regular basis in order to keep the memories suppressed.

actually many drugs have this effect however the one most commonly used in the medical field is a sedative known as propofol aka (milk of amnesia)

There is a drug that erases memory temporarily.  The use it when people get colonoscopies, they way they forget the procedure but don't really need to be sedated heavily.

I don't remember what the drug is called.  Look up colonoscopies and sedation on google.

I don't believe there's a way to fully block memories; however, I do know that they're investigating beta-blockers as a way to dampen the emotions immediately after a traumatic incident, which would lead to a less vivid memory of the event.
