Is there any supermarket chain in massachusetts that carries poi? (as in the hawwaiian stuff)?

I am looking for poi for a recipe for a luau...but it is nigh impossible to find poi in massachusetts! Does anyone know if stop n shop or some chain like that carries it?

Considering that there is a Taro shortage here in Hawaii...Taro being what Poi is made of I don't believe you will find it where you are.

the person above is right, there is a shortage on taro right now so you have to get the poi while you can.  i checked the site i gave you and they have poi available right now.  hanalei poi is really good...my daddy's favorite.  i prefer aloha poi but poi is poi!  lol.  every thursday we get taro brand poi here in washington.  i just polished the rest of our bag and can't wait 'til this thursday.  

well, i hope you have a wonderful luau...interesting that you're actually serving poi.  are you from hawaii or been there?  not too much people like the taste and texture of poi.  i know people born and raised on the islands that wont even touch it.  it's my starch of choice.

edit...i forgot to say.  read the information about shipping days carefully!  they only ship poi out on thursdays.

I'm from MA and this might be a shot in the dark, but have you checked Whole Foods? Are you in the East, Central, or Western side of the state? I'll keep my eyes open, perhaps get some myself.
