Is there any thing I can do if someone canceled the check he wrote me?

I subleased my apt to another guy, he wrote me a check for the deposit and I signed all the documents. But after I moved to another state, he said he wasn't satisfied with the room's condition after moving in so he canceled the check and refused to pay me.

I am wondering if there is anything I can do, cause I don't want to fly back or find a lawyer for this 200 dollar thing. Is there any place I can report like credit fraudulent?

More than likely, you'd have to sue him to recover the money.

contact the district attorney of the county the check was cleared in.
