  1. that is such BS  is there anything to do here in the states besides go to macdonalds and Burger King?? I mean DUH

there's tons of things to do when you go to the right place... like Rothenburg it's a beautiful Historic Town...that's just 1 little place.... don't believe everything you hear go see for yourself... dont stereotype

  2. I've been here two years and I find it boring as h**l....I don't like beer and castles don't interest me. It rains all the time and the wind is always blowing, the weather is unpredictable. I haven't found anything interesting in Germany yet but the Netherlands are kinda cool, and Luxembourg plays new movies in English.

  3. Actually, there's quite a bit to do. There are a lot of beautiful and/or historical places to visit, not just castles =P I recommend Bavaria, or the southern portion... the black forest is fantastic. If you aren't one to sight see, then I suggest you stay in one of the bigger cities, probably Berlin. The city life there is great and when I was there, I was never bored. There are always exciting stores to visit and interesting (sober xD) people to meet.

  4. Like anything you get out of it what you put into it. Germany is not everyones "Cup of Tea". And you going to hate it if your life is defined by shopping malls, & fast food & stuff in English.

The culture is different, older more refined. I do allot of walking and bike riding. Sitting in a park, or an outdoor cafe, Going to an ice cream parlor.

Germans tend to kill then fun out of allot of things though by over regulating them, for instance go cart tracks, boating, etc. But in my area of Germany you can take a steam train ride, canoe/raft/kayack down a river. There are camping spots, amusement parks, museums, Zoo's etc. There are the Alps in the south and the North Sea in the north.

And if that's not enough they took down the wall and it is very easy to leave and go somewhere that is not too boring.

  5. Bring your camera and try to get lost... see what you find along the way.

Here is what we found:  http://www.cricketprints.com/index.php?v...

  6. I would suggest you rent a car, tour the country side and the little towns they're smelly from manure fertilizer but otherwise unforgettable, then get on the autobahn and drive like a racer in a rush (no speed limit). Mail some mustard back home and have it waiting on you. Talk to some of the u.s soldiers over there. They got rafting tours on the rowdy river .Go see eagles nest in Austria it isn't far. Eat lots of wiennersnetzel and bratwurst, and the beer you got to admit is so good. Ride the trains as far as your money will take you and check out the old stuff. Read up on Bach and Beethoven to impress the girls hum the 5th symphony it's universal and it connects you to fraulines. Sit in the outside tables of the restaurants and just take in the architecture. Germans have good dance music so get lost in the lights and just be nice and friendly and you'll meet somebody. Look for a chance to invite yourself along with strangers. Remember you're not known so lose yourself for a little while. Try punk bars and act brave all the time but not cocky. Call the polize if someone act ill toward you.

  7. Germany is only boring, if the person who is there IS boring. You can do here anything you want and do the same as you use to do where you are right now, but why come over here then ? ;-)

Germany has a  very old culture - thousands of museums, *lol* yes and Castles.......what do you expect ? We have amusement parks , cinemas , clubs, pubs.......and the beer ? German beer is the best in the world - just come and see and explore......... :-)

  8. YES; A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. it is realy related which city and which time are you go... Because you can go opera, theathre, city fest.... And Germany have good biers..

  10. Depends wholly and totally on what you're interested in, I'd say.

You can go to amusement parks, concerts (from hip-hop and rap to classic you'll find it all), dance yourself silly in dance clubs, try cart racing or racing in an F1 car on the Nuremburgring, take flying lessons, learn to parachute or paragliding, hike, bike, learn pottery or Japanese, become and extra for movie shooting in Babelsberg or Cologne...

All you need to do is figure out what you want outside of drinking beer and see castles. :)
