Is there any tips how to get started bodyboarding?

my husband and i recently took up bodyboarding seeing we live right next to beach..i have 2 small children aged 8 and 5 yrs and need some tips on how to get going..kids love it..help as we are complete novices!!!

I would recommend making sure you have the boards with the hard plastic bottoms. They skim over the surface of the water much easier and give you a longer ride and therefore more fun.

You can buy them from anywhere but Sainsbury's sell them for about £17 and will probably be discounting them now it's the end of the season.
