Is there any truth behind the blair witch project

Question

like, i know the blair witch project was a movie with actors, who are still alive.

what i AM asking is if any of the movie was based on any true encounters, or stories.

also, can anyone give me the real legend, summarized maybe?

i really want to know because where this supposedly takes place is about a 20 minute drive from where i live, and i'd maybe like to go see (:

the house that they were in at the last part of the movie they tore it down which sucks i think..

they were quickly telling people the story wasn't real because they were getting way too many weird tourists trying to camp out in the woods

The Blair Witch Project?  Just some students on a shoe-string budget trying their hand at movie-making.  The movie was never true.  It was just marketed as a documentary. Anyone who bothered to stay through the ending credits of the movie would have read that it was a work of fiction.

There was a blair witch but the real story had absaultely nothing to do with what happend in the movie and the real story is not nearly as scary.

It was suppose to be based on an real incident, But there was no proof other then what they filimed.... So its sorta like some one came from outa town filmed some sceans and disappearedand and the left a very cheap camera that turned out to be a total piece of junk that could not film the flim that were found.... And a few people cashed in in that story and vanish...................  The rest came form some writter imagination................
