I have just had triops and am now interested in other similar type of things that I can hatch for fun. I have heard of fairy shrimp but can not find them for sale anywhere online. I want something like that though.

  1. Sea monkeys! Fun to watch. They sell them at Hobby Lobby, and Michael's, I think. =) The cost for a simple set is about ten bucks. They get more expensive with more elaborate tanks.

  2. ghost shrimp are really cool, and if your lucky enough to have one with abunch of eggs underneeth there stomach those are fun to hatch, and ghost shrimp are only 30 cents and available at most pet shops

  3. Yes, I would recommend Sea Monkeys.

You can buy all the parts on eBay, or buy a set.

They are a type of brine shrimp, but Sea Monkeys live longer, grow bigger, etc.

    Good luck

  4. Ya, sea monkeys are okay. But i think triops are better because they get waaay bigger and all sea monkeys do is swim back and forth. So if you want something that is less effort to care for then i would say sea monkeys, but if you want something that is a little harder to care for (not by much) but are more active and you can see better then i would just say stick with triops. You can dry out the tank they were in and fill it up and the eggs the last triops layed will hatch. You can also buy ghost shrimp from petstores but they dont get as big as sea monkeys.

  5. Sea monkeys are brine shrimp.

Clam shrimp are ostracod and can be bought on ebay as seabubbles but they hatch in seamonkey water.

Daphnia and copepods can be bought on ebay as well .

    Seamonkeys: saltwater

    Seabubles: Saltwater

    Seed shrimp: freshwater

    Daphnia and copepods: Freshwater
