Is there any way I can get my job back?

Okay, I was fired from a job I only had for a week because I am not 18, and it is company policy that you have to be 18. However, I am a junior in college living by myself. I have a 4.0 and I speak 5 languages, which is why I was hired for this position. Do you think there is any way I might negotiate my job back? Think they would make exceptions to company policy?

  1. You could be 17 and have a Nobel Peace Prize.

You NEED to be 18 or older.

  2. How did you get hired if you had to be 18 is what I want to know?  Sounds like you are stuck.  Sorry.

  3. No, sorry.  It seems as if someone at the company made a mistake in hiring you.  If the company's policy is "18" then they can not compound the mistake.  Managers and HR would have looked very carefully at your situation before coming to this decision because they would not want to start all over again with a new person (a lot of expense is involved in that (advertising, people's time, down time of other people, adverse customer interaction caused by lack of staff etc) unless they really had to.

  4. No.  They knew you had a 4.0 average and speak 5 languages when they fired you.
