The band has to apply for your employment visa.  You cannot.  While that visa is being processed, you will have to remain outside the US or you will be suspected of working in violation of your current visa, and will be denied entry.  You cannot begin singing with the band until you have the proper visa.  

Visas for "artists" are very difficult to get, and you will have to prove you have "exceptional" talent and ability and international renown.  If you haven't produced a gold record, won international competitions (e.g. Eurovision song contest), and have a pile of favorable reviews in publications, your chances of getting such a visa are slim to nil.
