  1. You are considered full term at 37 weeks, but the longer you can wait the better it is for your baby.  My Dr doesn't like to induce labor before 39 weeks.  But there are several ways you can try to induce labor.  You can try walking a lot, having s*x, nipple stimulation, and there are many more ways.

  2. I would wait as well.  My doctor told me I was going to have a large baby as well and out popped a 6 pd baby so they were wrong.  I have a friend who swears by eating spicy chinese food.  She did this with both her pregancies and went into labor with both.

  3. From what I've heard OB nurses and midwive say, there is no way to " induce" labor yourself UNLESS you're already starting or very close to starting on your own. So if you aren't at all dilated and your cervix isn't thinning, it's unlikely anything will work. However, if you are starting to dilate, s*x will cause uterine contractions and sperm helps to thin out the cervix.

I'd wait until your doctor says you are starting to dilate to even try anything.

    Good luck!

  4. s*x! Apparently there is actually a scientific reasoning behind this as sperm makes the cervix contract.

Don't believe all the old wives tales though, you will only go into labour when your baby is ready to come out or if you are induced in hospital. Good luck with the birth though! Hope all goes well x*x

  5. keeping active (walking often) works, as well as eating spicy foods and having s*x. These methods will only induce labour if your body is ready. You could start in about a week from now but like I said...they wont actually work until your body is ready. Good luck and CONGRATS!

  6. i spent a whole day out n finished off by eating a spicy chicken wrap at 2am (i was 38 weeks prego).. my contractions started straight away but i didnt notice until bout 1pm (after a restless night n discomfort)

i didnt do it to start my contractions, i was just hungry after a whole day out hehe

    good luck :)

  7. Natural Ways to Induce Labor

As you reach the end of your pregnancy, you may begin looking for natural ways to induce labor. Please keep in mind that you should not use any of these methods until you are past your due date. No method is guarranteed to work. Even drugs like pitocin do not always work at inducing labor. If your baby and body is not ready, labor will not begin. Please consult your health care provider before trying any of these methods.

Here are some of the most common methods women try to induce labor naturally

Sexual intercourse - This works in two ways to induce labor. First, female o****m can bring on contractions. Second, s***n contains prostaglandins. Prostaglandins work to help ripe and soften the cervix.

Nipple stimulation - Stimulating the nipples triggers the production of natural oxytocin. Oxytocin contracts the uterus.

Accupressure - Accupressure may be helpful in inducing labor. Some pressure points you can try are the roof of your mouth, the webbing of your fingers between your pointer finger and thumb, and above the ankle about four fingerspaces above is a pressure point.

Stripping the membranes - This can only be done by a health care provider. Your doctor or midwife will seperate the bag of waters from your cervix and this is thought to help encourage labor to start.

Raspberry Leaf Tea - Rasberry leaf tea is not actually known for it's labor inducing properties, but it is believed to be helpful in toning the uterus and helping with labor.

Cinnamin stick tea - Take cinnamin sticks and boil them into a tea and drink. It actually tastes good so even if it doesn't bring on labor it may help you to relax.

Evening primrose oil - Evening primrose oil comes in small capsules similar to vitamin E. It is believed to help soften and ripen the cervix.

Walking - Walking may help to get baby to drop into proper position.

Visualization/relaxation - Relaxation can help with labor induction. Try doing relaxation exercisers. They are also good practice for when labor actually begins.

Pineapple, cumin tea, eggplant parmesan, and spicy foods - are another thing you can try.

Other methods we do not recommend for inducing labor

Castor oil - Castor oil is also used for inducing labor. It tastes horrible! It is likely to make you feel sick and it probably won't work.

Herbs - There are other herbs you can use to induce labor. Without consulting your doctor or midwife we do not recommend the use of herbs.

  8. IS THE BABY'S FATHER AROUND?

GET SOME s***n UP THERE, THIS HELPS

  9. id wait another 2 weeks if i were you but raspeberry leaf tea and evening primrose worked 4 me

    Amy xx

EDIT: JAMIEC u do spell labour with a "u" in the uk

  10. s*x

  11. hey wait a few more weeks 1st and yeah raspberry tea leaf is good speak to ur midwife about it 2 good luck

  12. im a week over and booked to be induced on friday i had a membrane sweep today and i have tried all the usual remedies, lots of walking, lots of s*x,fresh pineapple, spicy curries, and cleaning floors on my hands and knees none of these has worked on this pregnancy but on my last cleaning floors on my hands and knees worked a treat ,if baby isn't ready or indeed your body nothing is going to work(sorry),as in when to start trying these things i would wait 2 weeks if you can or at least a week

  13. I think 37 weeks is a little too early. Why do you want to induce anyway? Just be patient and let your baby come when he/she is ready. If your doctor is concerned about the weight of your baby he/she will make the decision on when to induce you.

    p.s. you don't spell labor with a "u".....

  14. Raspberry leaf tea

    Lots of walking

    Hot food

s*x (if you're in the mood and can work over a belly =P )

There's the scary caster oil method (really really wouldn't reccomend)

I tried everything and nothing happened, then finally in her own sweet time, But I will say.. the raspberry tea is supposed to be GREAT for helping the contractions, I don't think it'll induce labour, but I firmly believe it's what helped me with a shift and painless labour.  Good Luck!!

  15. Well they say making love or  eating a curry ( old wives tale) is meant

    to help bring on labour

I'm sure there herbal remedies that help as well!!!
