I was looking at my house and it looks different to what it looks like now, the back garden is different and it looks as if some houses are still not built. Is there any way of telling when those snapshots were taken?

  1. There is but I can't remember how sorry.

It's one of the check boxes in the list in the bottom left.

    :D

  2. I think they update them periodically. Ours used to show my son's first car on the road. The more recent show his truck. Less than 2 years.

Yes, that's me in the avatar.

  3. A tell tale sign is the dogshit in the streets. If it's white, then you can be sure that the pictures are pretty old. Hope this helps.

  4. All google earth images  are 5 years ago lol

  5. This answer is not very technical.

Google Earth shows a car outside my house that I sold seven years ago.

  6. they are about 2 years ago.. although some pictures in my area have recently been up dated

they have to keep it back as to protect people i think not sure but i know that they are a few years old..

  7. unless you know the area well it is fair to assume most pictures are 4 to 6 years old.

  8. I dont think so...i've noticed this as well

Maybe one day GOOGLE will start to put TRUE dates on photos!!

Only thing is, if they did, it would show that they're not as up to-date as they try to make out
