  1. YES... there are even BOOKS on this that you can check out of the library if you don't want to spend the money... not EVERYTHING is online... sometimes you need a real book to do the job

  2. Not sure how to help but all plants can be identified by their leaves.  There are many good plant books that can help with this.

My grandfather-many years ago-bet me to learn 10 trees by their leaves.  It was a lot of fun.

  3. http://www.fw.vt.edu/dendro/forsite/Idtr...

Just used the key!  It is intended for a 4-H activity but works!

    Give it a try!

  4. There are different ( interactive )identification keys for leaves/trees in the Internet. To be not too large many of them are specialized to several regions.

    Here some examples:

    http://forestry.about.com/library/treeke...

    http://www.uwsp.edu/cnr/leaf/Treekey/tkf...

    http://uptreeid.com/

    For deciduous trees only:

If you need another one, google identification-key+leaves + name of your country and you should find an adequate one.
