  1. A common bank, used by everyone would not be a good thing for the economy.  If everyone were forced to use the same bank, that bank would have no competition, and could charge whatever they wanted in interest rates, fees, taxes, etc,etc. And we'd have no choice, cuz we (previously) had agreed to use that one bank.
