  1. You can turn the unit on its side, will not affect it's operation. If still too big then you can try to build a box that you can put the unit in that tapers down to the window size, all you are trying to do is vent the heat of the unit running. Remember to angle the box enough to let any condensation drips run out the window and not into your place. Good luck!

  2. You have to take the Window off its hinges and attach the AC unit like you would normally... but then you have to get ply wood or plexi glass to seal off the now Open part of the window... when I did it I used Plexiglas so it would still let light in the room !!!   Good luck!

  3. You can always rig something up, but why not just sell this one and buy one built for a casement window?

  4. Trick is to find a unit which is narrow enough.

Have done it w/ a small unit which fit the opening, however it was on

ground floor w/ deep window openings which provided support.

Was able to leave swing out window in place since I got the proper side vent clearance by disconnecting the link to the crank mechanism , but still  had to block the space above the unit.

Might be able to build or adapt a casement bracket to fit.

Just a thought , but it payed to adapt the unit when I was young & poor.

Might be easier to get a casement unit & sell it to the next guy when you move.
