Is there any way that I can determine whether a stock was listed in NYSE, NASDAQ or AMEX base on its symbol?

The rule of thumb used to be 1,2,3, NYSE - 2 AMEX and 4 - NASDAQ however there are exceptions. NASDAQ stocks can have a 5th symbol under certain circumstances, and the AMEX well, it doesn't really matter. I doubt it is around much longer anyway.

NYSE and AMEX generally have symbols with 1, 2 or 3 letters.
