There is a college nearby. The high school has a running start program, but you have to be in 11th-12th grade at the time. I'm going into 10th grade. I despise public school, and would like to find other options for the arts and foreign languages. Thanks!

  1. Yes, I have a friend who atended our local college as a full-time student, and he's only 16.

  2. Yes.  Many high school age home educated  kids take classes at colleges.

I know of one homeschool family that had to send their kids back to school; (the mom had to go to work) the grade 10 boy could not tolerate high school.  He thought the classes were not stimulating and the juvenile, asinine behavior of the kids made it intolerable for him to attend.   The local college accepted him as a student, so in essence, he bypassed the local high school entirely.

  3. The short answer is obviously yes! Check out online courses as well. Do not limit yourself, you are of course homeschooled. I know that Bob Jones University has quite a few programs. Check out their HomeSat program. Link below. Kudos to you and I wish you well.

  4. yes, you can start taking collage courses at 13 at a community collage. that is what I did for my sinior year of high school.

  5. There are some programs it depends on what college where they have like a college dual high school program some could be at the collge and some could be from online but whatever college you go to tru calling them for info on programs like that because they have them now a days and it's easier to get them in them now. try calling is the best way to find out ;)

  6. I know kids do it all the time. What i don't know is what grade they are in. Your best bet is to call the college and ask.

  7. check with your state and local laws....some will allow it....some won't.
